Budget 2023-24 :

The Finance Minister of India, Nirmala Sitharaman, presented the Union Budget for 2023-24 on February 1st, 2023. The budget has focused on infrastructure development, health and education, and rural development. A total of ₹ 35,000 crore has been allocated for the education sector, and ₹ 2.23 lakh crore has been allocated for the health sector.
Farmers' Protest:

Farmers' protests against the new farm laws continue across the country. The protests entered their 100th day on February 1st, 2023. The central government and the farmer unions are holding discussions to reach a solution to the ongoing impasse.
COVID-19:

India reported 33,255 new cases of COVID-19 and 312 deaths in the past 24 hours. The country's total COVID-19 cases have reached 1,41,79,093, and the total deaths have reached 1,74,308. The government has ramped up its vaccination drive, and more than 15 crore doses have been administered so far.
India's Economy:

India's economy is expected to grow at a faster pace in the current fiscal year, 2023-24. According to the Economic Survey 2023, the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is expected to grow by 11% in the current fiscal year.
India successfully launched its latest communication satellite, GSAT-12R, on January 30th, 2023. The satellite was launched onboard the PSLV-C50 rocket from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. The satellite will provide communication services to the country and will replace the GSAT-12 satellite that was decommissioned in November 2021.
